How much weight can I lose, and how fast?
The answer will vary for each client, depending on how much they need (or wish) to lose, how well they adhere to their nutrition and exercise plans, and other metabolic and health factors. Typically, our clients who are committed to our program will lose 5 – 10 pounds the first week, and may lose 15 – 20 pounds during the first month!
What are the injection and medications for? Are they habit-forming?
We use only FDA-approved appetite suppressants that are recommended by the National Institute of Health for treatment in weight loss. If prescribed as part of your program, these medications will curb your hunger pangs and cravings and help keep you energized. For those clients for whom prescriptions are not indicated, we may recommend natural herbal therapies.
The injections are a unique combination of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other natural nutrients that supplement what the body needs to stay energized and nourished. They help eliminate fat, control carbohydrate metabolism, and enhance the immune system.
None of the therapeutic agents used in our program have been found to be habit forming, or to elicit any permanent negative side effects.
How long are my appointments?
The initial assessment visit takes approximately one hour. Subsequent weekly check-in’s take about 20-30 minutes. We will do our best to accommodate you with convenient appointment times.
What is the nutritional plan?
Our plan consists of foods designed to lower blood insulin levels, which increases the body’s ability to burn fat and curbs cravings for sweets and starch. The typical low calorie diet will consist of lean protein, good carbohydrates, and essential fats, all taken in proper proportions and at favorable times of day. Behavioral modification and education will provide tools to help keep the weight off.
Do I have to exercise on the program?
Exercise is an important component of any weight management program. While most weight loss occurs due to a decrease in caloric intake, physical activity will help further weight loss as well as help prevent weight regain. We recommend beginning slowly and increasing intensity and duration gradually. The end result will be a tremendous improvement in overall health, energy and quality of life.
What is HCG and how does it work?
HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone that is produced naturally in the body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. This pregnancy hormone has a property that allows the body to mobilize fat and use it for both mother and fetus. For weight loss, only a small amount is needed in order to capitalize on this same mechanism. (see HCG program on website)
Would I lose the same amount of weight without the HCG?
You can lose weight by simply eating fewer calories and fat. However, because the body stores fat during times of deprivation, you will most likely lose muscle before fat. This in turn causes cellular metabolism to slow down, causing weight gain. The HCG targets and eliminates your stored fat and distributes any existing healthy fat more evenly throughout your body. For more information on the HCG-enhanced program, consult one of our physicians.
What is estrogen and what does it do?
Estrogen is not one hormone, but a group of similar hormones of varying degrees of activity. Estrogen is the female hormone responsible for ovulation. It plays an important role in a woman’s life from the time she enters puberty until the end of her last menstrual period.
What is andropause?
Andropause is the male version of menopause; however, it occurs more gradually, over a longer period of time than its counterpart. During andropause, men experience a gradual decline in testicular function and testosterone production. Many physiological and psychological changes occur during this time.
Between their mid-40s and early 70s, men experience a drop in testosterone of about 50%; however, it is often noted as young as 30. Men with reduced testosterone production have an increase in upper and central body fat, decreased muscle mass, diminished libido and erectile dysfunction. Cognitive impairment and depression are also common in men that have low testosterone.
How is HGH taken?
This is taken daily by small injection under the skin, this is the only application method proven to show results.

What exactly is hormone modulation?
Hormone modulation is the science of optimizing hormones that once may have been in abundance when we were young but are no longer being adequately produced by the body. The goal of hormone management is to modulate our hormones to the levels at which our immune system is the strongest, our metabolism is most efficient, and our ability to build muscle, rather than fat is the greatest.
How long before you can actually see results from hormone replacement therapy?
While this varies with each person, some people feel results within days. You can expect to feel results within three to six months after beginning hormone management. Often the results of proper modulation are manifested by what you don’t feel; i.e., sick, tired, moody, etc.
How long do I have to be on these hormone replacement therapies?
You should give your program at least six months to see significant benefits. Your body needs that much time to heal and rebuild. You should stay on the program for as long as you want to optimize your health.
What happens if I stop the hormone replacement therapy program?
You will have gained time while on the program, but if you should elect to stop, you will experience no accelerated aging. Should you stop the program, your body will simply begin to age again at the normal rate.
At what age should a person start such a program?
It’s never too late for any adult to begin the nutraceutical program. A person does not need to begin hormone modulation therapy, however, until such time when the body begins to lower its own hormone production. Our thorough blood tests and assessments help us determine exactly where you may be most deficient and how we can best help you. Every person is different and will have different needs and may need different adjustments as far as hormone modulation go.
Why does HGH have to be injected?
Human Growth Hormone breaks down if taken orally, so the only true effective way to obtain its benefits, at this time, is by injection. Be aware that there are many counterfeit over the counter or online products on the market today that claim to be HGH. Unless they are medically prescribed by a physician and administered by injection, be wary of their claims as you can bet they are not the real thing.
Isn’t it unnatural to inject or digest hormones?
The HGH we use is identical to the Growth Hormone naturally produced by the body. It is spread to target organs just as it would be if secreted by the pituitary gland. Supplementing HGH is as natural as supplementing thyroid hormone. It simply returns your body to a state in which it is functioning more optimally.
Is Growth Hormone safe? Will it make things grow?
Human Growth Hormone is safe in physiologic doses. Among its many functions is that of repairing and regrowing tissue. When a person reaches maturity, Growth Hormone is important for cell revitaliztion and repair. Cells cannot repair, maintain, and heal properly in its absence. While HGH is sometimes used to stimulate height in children who are pituitary dwarfs, it does not make an adult grow taller.
There has been absolutely no correlation between physiologic doses of HGH, such as those given in our programs, and cancer of any kind. Quite the contrary. HGH has proven to be extremely helpful in strengthening the immune system, increasing mental acuity and focus, and preventing the onset of diseases usually associated with aging.
There’s been a lot of negative press recently about HRT for women. What do you think about that?
It’s very important to distinguish between natural and synthetic hormones. Traditionally, synthetic hormones have been used in hormone replacement programs for menopausal women. There is a big difference between, for example, the commonly used Progestins-Provera, Noresthisterone, etc. and bio-identical progesterone found in natural progesterone creams. Your Total Vitality Medical Group physician will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy for menopause.

What is the difference between bio-identical hormones vs synthetics?
Bioidentical hormones exactly mimic the structure of the hormones your body produces naturally. Bioidentical hormones come from plant sources, and help rebalance hormone levels in our bodies in a natural way.
Synthetic hormones are called synthetic because, they do not mimic the body’s natural hormones. Synthetic hormones mainly turn off symptoms then rebalance hormone levels.
How long until I notice any results from Hormone Replacement Therapy?

What is the difference between Growth Hormone and Semorelin?
Semorelin stimulates the pituitary gland to produce more of your own human growth hormone. It is injected 7 nights per week.
Human Growth Hormone is bio-identical, increases levels of growth hormone, and it does not stimulate the pituitary gland. It is injected 6 times weekly in the morning.
Will I have side-effects from hormone replacement therapy?
Most people do not develop any side effects. The most common side effects you could experience are water retention or joint pain. In these cases joint pain can be cured by lowering the dose of HGH and slowly increasing it. Water retention can be alleviated by the use of recommended products.
